Paddle-boarding practice

Hello friends, christy here.

After being back in the hospital this weekend, I am starting to feel better.  I’m not 100% yet, but was able to go to rehab today and work on walking and stairs with a new socket (exciting!).  Thanks everyone who prayed for me and called to see how I was doing.

Also, as many of you already know, we have a big event coming up this Sunday – the kickoff paddleboard race/fundraiser for the nonprofit organization Jess, Tim, and I have started.  Good news there:  just heard back from the secretary of Texas today that they have accepted our Articles of Formation! Just a few steps closer to the sought-after tax ID number.

Anyway, besides tax forms, bank account paperwork, and our registration site going down momentarily- I am worrying about more important things this week – for instance- how do I stand on a paddle-board with my prosthetic leg?! Is my balance going to be good enough to actually race on Sunday?

Luckily for me a local paddleboard instructor and yoga enthusiast, Trenton, agreed to practice with me in the evenings.  My mom who’s visiting this week taking care of me, took pictures:

Turned out pretty good for the first day (didn’t include the falling pics, sorry!)

-I hope to see everyone in Florida- registration is still open until Friday, or if you can’t make it out there, you can support the foundation from home!

-as always, thanks for the prayers and support,
